In cooking, a chef's knife, also known as a cook's knife, is a cutting tool used in food preparation. The chef's knife was originally designed primarily to slice and disjoint large cuts of beef, but today it is typically seen as the primary general-utility knife for most cooks and chefs.

Our Wüsthof Chef's Knives might be the most multipurpose of our many knives. They can be used for small tasks like mincing herbs or julienning carrots, as well as larger ones like carving a chicken or slicing a ham. You can even use a Chef's Knife for carving meats and separating meat from the bone if you don’t have a Carving Knife.
